Major revision in Cheerleaders Investment Formula

BSGoodies announce a brand new formula, a result which exists only because more than 150 basketsim managers shared their data with us. After careful analysis, cleaning and processing of the data we concluded that the new BSGoodies Cheerleaders Weekly Investment formula is:

Investment = 1100 + 1.25 * ArenaSize

For people who are curious, and want to see some math, more details about the formula and the analysis can be found in this document.

More data is always welcome. Your participation in this form will help augment the quality of this result.

Edit: From the feedback we are getting it seems that the old formula is a better approximation for "small" arenas (up to ~26000). Apparently, the new formula overestimates the desirable amount of investment for "small" arenas.
So we decided to post both formulae in the tool, along with this information, and leave the more arbitrary element of compromise between the two to the users.

Is there a way to fix this? Can we have one formula that we believe in for "all" arenas? YES: If you have a blossoming cheerleader squad, especially one ranked high in your country, please send us data using this form. [We need more high-ranked datapoints from the "small" arenas in particular -- but all data is welcome and useful].

BSGoodies Future Updates

Dear basketsim managers,
Dear friends,

Due to other engagements I have minimize the time I give to the game. BSGoodies though, play a very important role for so many of us and I really want to keep it working.

Because I do not have time to look often all forums please let me know if some calculations are not correct any more. Moreover, please let me know how I can make them correct if the information is available.

I will try to validate the site as often as I can, but with your feedback this will be much more efficient.

You can use my basketsim email account: manathan.bs@gmail.com or reply with a comment to this post.

Cheers,
manathan

Tiredness tool updated

The impact of tactics and training has been changed on BS Goodies Tiredness Tool following adiego's statement and the comprehensive wiki entry at BSwiki.

The first change is for training. Intense training results in 6% (from 5% in the past) tiredness for all players that get trained and Immense training results in 12% (from 10% in the past).

The second change is about tactics tiredness. So, when a player is starter in a game, he gets tired. His tiredness depends on the tactics that the team has chosen. To be exact the tiredness is a sum of three parts of tiredness:

trd = c + dt + ot

where trd: tiredness, c: constant, dt: defense tiredness, ot: offense tiredness.

c is always equal to 4%, where dt and ot depends on the tactics chosen, as follows:

Defense: dt

Offense: ot
normal 1%
normal 1%
sprint back on defense 1%
read the defense 2%
contest every shot 2%
fast early breaks 2%
block out and rebound 2%
distance shooting 1%
protect power zone 2%
try to penetrate 2%
wear out opponents 1%
crash the boards 1%

Tactics tiredness can be summarized in the following table:

NO RTD FEB DS TTP CTB
ND 6% 7% 7% 6% 7% 6%
SPOD 6% 7% 7% 6% 7% 6%
CES 7% 8% 8% 7% 8% 7%
BOAR 7% 8% 8% 7% 8% 7%
PPZ 7% 8% 8% 7% 8% 7%
WOΤO 6% 7% 7% 6% 7% 6%

PS: I have not checked yet all these combinations personally (I used BSwiki data), if you find that something needs to be corrected please let me know.

PS2: More info about the cheerleaders research later on.

Re-evaluating Cheerleaders tool (cont'd)

Dear Basketsim Managers,

First of all, I would like to thank all of you for your participation in this effort!!

After the 1st week of the re-evaluation of cheerleaders formula we have received a lot of interesting data and we have some first conclusions. We need however much more data. So, I would like to extend the invitation to add your data once again during this week.

In order to do that just fill in your data in this form.

Status: Unique verified entries: 35

In the image you can see all the data point corresponding to blossoming cheerleaders. I tried to verify that all data comes from existing users and that the data is real.

In order to come up with conclusive results we need much more data. Moreover, the majority of the data is concentrated between 25000 and 35000 so it is still difficult to evaluate the formula for arena sizes outside this interval.

So, please add your data in the form. We need more data for any available size!

Re-evaluating Cheerleaders tool

Dear Basketsim Managers,

I am trying to evaluate the accuracy of the tool proposing Cheerleaders contribution. To that end I want to gather as much information as possible from managers who have blossoming cheerleaders. In order to have meaningful results it is important that all data used come from managers who:
  • Have blossoming cheerleaders (imperative!!)
  • Have the same arena size for the current season
  • If possible have the same investment per week for the current season
I am asking to give the data with your username but if somebody wants his/her anonymity of course this will be respected. When I have an important number of data I will start making public the results (and update them as more data come).

All managers who are interested in contributing, please write directly your data in form you can find in this link (if you have any questions send me a private me: Athens Kokoi home page). The data needed are the following:
  • Manager username (the only reason I ask for it is in order to verify that each data point is unique it will be kept privately)
  • Arena Size
  • Current Investment
  • Total Investment
  • A verification that you have Blossoming (it is just a reminder!)
  • Cheerleader squad position and country
When enough data are gathered, firstly I will publish the statistics and I can provide my assessment for all managers that need some tweak to their weekly contribution!

BS goodies present the new, integrated "Arena Tool"

The new integrated "Arena Tool" was completed yesterday. With this tool a BS manager can make a lot of computations! In this post the functionality of "Arena Tool" will be explained.

The BS manager fills in the information of his current arena, as well as, the desired number of new arena size or the available budget.

By pressing the "Size" button, a new arena is calculated according to the "perfect" seat ratio. If the current arena setup has very bad seat ratio, then, it is possible that the proposed arena setup will have some irregularities, that is, it can propose more seats than the desired seats number.

By pressing the "Budget" button, a new arena is calculated according to the "perfect" seat ratio, but always the budget is not exceeded. If the current arena setup has very bad seat ratio, then, it is possible that the proposed arena setup will have some irregularities, that is, the ratio may not be exactly the "perfect" seat ratio.

By pressing the "Tick's" button, a new arena is calculated according to the "perfect" seat ratio. This arena has the desired revenue (in case it is full). If the current arena setup has very bad seat ratio, then, it is possible that the proposed arena setup will have some irregularities, that is, the ratio may not be exactly the "perfect" seat ratio.

By pressing the "Fanclub" button, a new arena is calculated according to the "perfect" seat ratio. This arena is designed according to a given Fanclub, in a way that the arena will be full of fans. If the current arena setup has very bad seat ratio, then, it is possible that the proposed arena setup will have some irregularities, that is, the ratio may not be exactly the "perfect" seat ratio.

If the BS manager selects the add/sub choice, then there is a possibility that the tool may propose to destroy a few seats in order to create a perfectly balanced arena. If not (and the add only choice is selcted) then it is possible to have seat ratio irrgularities.

By pressing the "Copy" button, the proposed seat setup is copied into the current seat setup textboxes, for further calulations.

When a new arena is proposed, along with the new seats, the total seats and the costs, the following arena-dependent calculations are made:
  1. The minimum size of funclub needed to fill this arena, which is [arena size]/17 and is true only when cheerleders are blossoming and the team has a few entertaining players.
  2. The weekly compenasation for cheerleaders in order to be blosslomg.
  3. The maximum tickets income, which happens only if arena is full, which can be done according to the two previous calculations.
  4. The home games needed in order to get all the new-arena-investment-money returned from tickets.
  5. The duarion of the contstruction in days.
Finally, in the textarea a BS manager can see explanation about the proposed arena and costs.

* This tool is inspired by bs-helpdesk and bsimvndv.com and it, also, introduces new features!

BS goodies present the new "Coach & Training Tool"

The first part of the Tool is the same Coach Tool that was described previously. The only difference is that when the button "Coach Tool" is pressed the "Coach TB" of the Training Tool is also gettting the coach training bonus as value.

This value will be used in order to compuer the weekly Training increase of the player. The provided web interface implements both the fast and the slow (and exact way). In other words, a user can fill just the "Age" and the "Workrate" and get the training speed of a player (the coach training bonus is used automatically from the textbox "Coach TB", nevertheless the user may change the value in that box"). Alternatively, if a user chooses to fill in "Age", "Pr. Wage", "EV" then the "Workrate" is computed more accurately and the computed Workrate is used in order to provide more accurate results.

Enjoy!
