New amazing updates in Basketfox!

Edit: There were several bugfixes incorporated these days. Moreover, the auto-update feature is now possible for both versions. This means that for any future version if you go in your browser (Firefox or Chrome) and give "Extensions -> Check for Updates" or "Extensions -> Update Extensions Now" you will download the new version automatically.

================================
New updates: Basketfox for Chrome 1.12.9 and Basketfox for Firefox 1.1.7

Dear basketsim users,

Basketfox by BSGoodies has gone a long way and thanks to ideas and bug reports from the community its getting more and more exciting.
The features of the latest version include:
-- Prediction of future real WR for youth players (kudos to thanosthrylos for the idea and aziros for the current version of the formula used)
-- Options page (for the Chrome version)
-- Auto-update feature for the future updates (for Chrome version, you still have to update manually for now).
-- Add skill numbers in market page

and of course all the cool features that already existed:
All players page:
-- Skill bar for each player in all players page
-- Skill pops per season based on last training
-- First team, second team and total averages of XP, WR, age, wage, tiredness, FT
Single player page:
-- Skill bar for each player in single player page
-- Calculation of real WR in single player
Market page:
-- Skill bar per player
Training report page:
-- Current sublevel and last training increase

New version of Basketfox for Chrome and Firefox.

Check the original post for the download links.

Updates for Basketfox:
  • Bugfixes for both versions.
  • Important when using imperial units.
  • New feature: Options for Basketfox for Chrome
  • Accuracy for training report has increased (thanks to several managers for pointing it out).
  • Fixed a bug left in the code for Google Chrome version with multiview leading to no scoreboards.
  • Fixed the spacing problems in player page.
  • Fixed the small error in training report page (only when a player had just popped up a skill). Now it should be 100% accurate.
  • I removed the WR and XP from player page when the player is youth.
  • I finalized the players summary in the right side of the players page.
  • Only for Google Chrome: I added the BSGoodies logo with a link on top in order to be able to go directly to BSgoodies.
  • Finally, I - at last - merged the core of the code for the two addons, so every change applies to both browsers. Well that's good news... for me! :) It doesn't affect user experience.

New updates: Basketfox for Chrome 1.11.2 and Basketfox for Firefox 1.1.1

Dear Basketsim managers and Basketfox users,

A new version of Basketfox (only for Chrome for both Firefox and Chrome) is out. It includes the highly ranked proposed features and more:
1) In the training report page we present the current sublevel and the last training impact (your 1st choice in the gallop)
2) In the players page the "skills per season" number is calculated based on the Training data (your 2nd choice in the gallop)
3) The grey EV does not affect anymore Basketfox and now it can read it.
4) The annoying popup in some cases in the player page (of another team) is changed with different text in the page and no pop-up.
5) The work-rate as a number is added in the market page.
6) A first version of the summarization table exists in the players page (part of the third choice of the gallop).

Enjoy, and let me know of any problems/error you face.

Possible features for new Basketfox

Dear BS managers,

I have been thinking of a new version of Basketfox and I came up with many different features that seem to be very interesting. Unfortunately, I have to prioritize and implement only some of them in order to have it some time soon.

So, I created a poll that you can find in the top of the page that you can select the feature you find the most important. I will try to implement as many features as possible but I will implement first the features that seem to be the most relevant.

The options up to now are:

  1. When in the match report page I can try to calculate some statistics like how many extra free throws were made and how many missed (it was discussed in some forums and its actually fun to have this number). It may be possible to calculate other stats as well so if you have an idea (and an idea how to do it!!) please submit your proposal in this form.
  2. When in the training report page I can present the exact sublevel for each player.
  3. When in the players page I can use the "Training" information to calculate how many weeks are needed to pop a skill (this cannot take into account the sublevel so it will assume that sublevel is 0).
  4. When in the training page or the coach market page I can present the coach's info (workrate, xp, wr with youths) with a numerical number in parenthesis which is currently missing.
  5. In the players page I can enhance on the right hand-side the table with the team averages. I was thinking of presenting the averages of the (i) first 5 players, (ii) second 5 players, (iii) all players for several attributes like: (a) total skill, (b) wage, (c) exp, (d) age
  6. In the arena page I can add the BSGoodies proposal for cheerleaders investment.
Options 2 and 3 can be used only by supporters. If you have another idea please submit it in this form.
Please vote in the poll in the top. Which extensions do you find more relevant. If you have other ideas as well please use the forms and submit them!

Best,
BSGoodies Team

Call for training data

Dear basketsim managers,

Here at BSGoodies we have been trying to verify and re-engineer the training formula based on age and real WR. We have already collected some data but now we really need the help of basketsim community. Every supporter has every week the detailed information about the training of his players. We would like to collect as much data as possible including:

  • Training speed (e.g. +1.14)
  • Training intensity (e.g. 40h)
  • Player's EV
  • Player's age
  • Player's predicted wage
  • Coach ability to train senior players (1-100)
  • Coach WR (1-15)
  • Coach motivation (1-100)

This information per player will help us understand how the training speed varies according to age and WR. We have some preliminary results (see image below) and we wait for you help to have a more conclusive analysis. Please provide your data!

Using your data we can complete the image and be able to calculate the training speed for a variety of ages and WR. This will help us to build a tool which will calculate with absolute accuracy the future skill of your player if you train him for 2,3 or 4 years. As you can see it is really useful!

Basketfox enhanced by BSGoodies

Download page for Basketfox for Firefox and Chrome

Submit bug reports

Dear friends,

I have been thinking of a more complete basketfox for a long time now.
We present Basketfox enhanced by BSGoodies with the following amazing new features:

1) Presentation of player in the (single) player page:
-- Skill per position
-- BMI (next to weight)
-- Numerical values of each skill
-- Numerical values of XP and WR
-- Exact decimal value of WR when predicted wage is shown
-- If it is a youth player the available values are used and in parenthesis the number of skills used are shown ("?" is used when skill is not known)
2) Presentation of youth teams
3) Basketfox will work until Firefox 10.9

BSGoodies team.

Edit: And there are more good news!! Basketfox is ported to Chrome as well!

Edit: Submit feedback if you face a problem.

Edit: Links updated to solve the rebounding problem (now rebounds are counted in youth team page) (versions 0.6.4 and 1.5 respectively)

Edit: Links updated to support any language. (versions 0.6.5 and 1.6 respectively)

Edit: NEW amazing update! Using current wage as an estimation for predicted wage you can see an estimation of WR for players that are not yours! (versions 0.6.6 and 1.7 respectively) (kudos to wizinjsh for his proposal)

Edit: For details about Basketfox for Chrome 1.11.2 and Basketfox for Firefox 1.1.1 see my new post!

New Tool: Financial Tool

While still in beta BSGoodies made this tool available to help managers organize in season 14.

This tool works as follows:
A manager gives:
-- current financial situation
-- current number of fans
-- average weekly fan increase
-- number of weeks to give 50.000 for youth (first weeks like that)
-- number of weeks to give 25.000 for youth (if any, after the above weeks)
-- amount of money that cheerleaders get
-- amount of money planned to be invested by the end of the year to college (if any)
-- expected cup matches (after cup matches friendly matches are assumed, also used to calculate cup rewards if any)
-- arena size which will be full during league match and half during cup matches (obviously this is just an estimation)
-- tickets during friendly matches
-- league level and estimated final position (to calculate rewards)

Please insert only digits in the textboxes: no dots and no euro symbols.

Enjoy the tool here

More details soon!

Best,
BSGoodies

Major revision in Cheerleaders Investment Formula

BSGoodies announce a brand new formula, a result which exists only because more than 150 basketsim managers shared their data with us. After careful analysis, cleaning and processing of the data we concluded that the new BSGoodies Cheerleaders Weekly Investment formula is:

Investment = 1100 + 1.25 * ArenaSize

For people who are curious, and want to see some math, more details about the formula and the analysis can be found in this document.

More data is always welcome. Your participation in this form will help augment the quality of this result.

Edit: From the feedback we are getting it seems that the old formula is a better approximation for "small" arenas (up to ~26000). Apparently, the new formula overestimates the desirable amount of investment for "small" arenas.
So we decided to post both formulae in the tool, along with this information, and leave the more arbitrary element of compromise between the two to the users.

Is there a way to fix this? Can we have one formula that we believe in for "all" arenas? YES: If you have a blossoming cheerleader squad, especially one ranked high in your country, please send us data using this form. [We need more high-ranked datapoints from the "small" arenas in particular -- but all data is welcome and useful].

New update for Tiredness Tool

Today BSGoodies announce a major update for BSGoodies Tiredness Tool incorporating all recent changes.

The impact of tactics and the night rest have been changed and the change is reflected on BS Goodies Tiredness Tool following adiego's statement and the comprehensive wiki entry at BSwiki.

So, when a player is starter in a game, he gets tired. His tiredness depends on the tactics that the team has chosen. To be exact the tiredness is a sum of three parts of tiredness:

trd = c + dt + ot

where trd: tiredness, c: constant, dt: defense tiredness, ot: offense tiredness.

c is always equal to 4%, where dt and ot depends on the tactics chosen, as follows:

Defense: dt

Offense: ot
normal2%
normal2%
sprint back on defense1%
read the defense2%
contest every shot1%
fast early breaks1%
block out and rebound2%
distance shooting1%
